A sustainability policy making competition

Policies affect us all in some way or another. Strategize is an opportunity to explore the nitty-gritty involved in making policies. Is it a competition? A crash course? It's everything! The competition revolves around a specific SDG that calls for immediate attention with respect to the rapid pace at which urbanization and industrialization are taking over the world!
A problem statement concerning the particular SDG will be made available for the contestants, on which the whole team will be working for the entire stretch of the competition drafting policies, analyzing them, and iterating over their socio-economic impacts.

The vision of this competition is to bring out innovative solutions for socio-environmentally pressing concerns from some of the best minds of the country, at the same time empowering them with the necessary skill and thought process in curating policies, shaping the next generation of policymakers and the thought leaders of tomorrow!

Provides a platform where the best minds can come forward and critically utilize the opportunity of curating and drafting policies with the aim of encouraging students towards the process of policymaking and governance around sustainability


Prize Money

Total Prize Pool of ₹40k.

Professional Training

The shortlisted participants will be trained under experts in public policy about public policies, policy-making strategies, and much more…

Policy undertaking

The winning team’s policy statement and analysis will be shared with experts in public policy to be considered for a possible ground-level implementation.

Certificate of participation

The shortlisted teams after training, would receive a certificate of participation if not cleared for the final pitching round.

Who can participate?

A participant can only participate through a single team. Inter-college (teams) participation is permitted. A maximum of 4 participants are only allowed per team. Participants are also allowed to participate individually.

Round 1: Mains

Problem statements would be chosen within the scope of the particular SDG. The contestants are expected to submit an executive summary towards this cause, the content of which, will be taken into consideration for the subsequent elimination round in which we also expect a few NGOs to join in for evaluations. Registered participants will be able to see the problem statement on the E-Summit Portal.

Training round

Basic training to be provided to the shortlisted teams, for them to better gauge the real-time problems and orient the solutions accordingly… this phase may last for a few weeks after which they are expected to fine-tune their policies and prepare content for both the final presentation and promo voting video.

Round 2: Final presentation

Closed pitching round; evaluated by a distinguished judging panel from industry, academia and government bodies, where participating teams will be judged based on their critical thinking, logical reasoning and innovative capabilities. The finale is set to coincide with the culmination of E-summit ‘22, to be held in association with the sustainability conclave.
